  • Describe the people in the photo. Who do you think they are?

Interpretation: What is the picture about?

    1. What is the relationship between the people in this photo?
    2. Look at the lighting and shadows. Why is it so dark? Where is the light coming from?
    3. Look at the man and woman’s faces. What are their expressions? What are they thinking? How do you know?
    4. How are they feeling? How do you know?
    5. What is happening outside the frame of this photo?
    6. If you were in this picture, what sounds would you hear?
