Observation: What do you see?

  • Name 10 – 20 specific details from the picture.
  • How many people can you see?
  • How many boys do you see in the photo? Girls? Men? Women?

Interpretation: What is the picture about?

    1. Which line is the photographer standing on?
    2. Are they walking toward the camera or away from the camera? How can you tell?
    3. What else do you see in the picture that helps us know where this is?
    4. Is this a town, a big city or a rural area?
    5. Does it seem safe to walk in the middle of the road?
    6. What might these people be doing?
    7. What are they talking about?
    8. Why is this picture dark?
